Large Tote: 16x14x4 to 18x14x4 Inches Gusseted

A large tote is not just a bigger flat tote. The defining feature is the gusset — the panel of fabric at the bottom (and sometimes sides) that gives the bag depth. A flat 18x14 tote and a gusseted 18x14x4 look almost identical lying down. XL Tote: 19x16x4 and Up — Beach and Haul Sizes

XL is where the bag stops being a daily carry and starts being a haul tool. Beach days, farmers' market mornings, an overnight that does not warrant a duffel — these are the use cases.
